We had an unexpected stay and had to book our stay the night before we got there. I did it through Booking.com. When we arrived at the property the booking was not showing up. Long story short - the first, very pleasant lady was training and her training had gone to lunch, so we had to wait maybe 15 minutes for her to return. The first lady, worked to the best of her ability to figure out what happened. Once the experienced lady got there, she said she used to work for booking.com and new how to fix the problem. She apologized profusely for our inconvenience and then upgraded us to a suite. She gave us directions on where to grab something quick to eat and was very helpful and pleasant throughout our stay.

We last stayed here back in 1996 and the hotel has had a very noticeable refurbishment and is in excellent condition! Our room was perfect, very spacious and with a lovely comfortable King bed. The staff were so friendly and helpful, in fact we enjoyed so much that we extended our stay for one more night! We dined in the restaurant on our final night and the food was first class and service to match. Would highly recommend this hotel, amazing value for money!

The hotel overall was beautiful. Historic, vintage, and just an all-around experience to stay. Staff members are friendly, from the housekeeping to the front desk, to any employee you pass by, and you are greeted with a smile. My husband and I came for a family emergency, so we didn’t get any pictures, but we will be returning for a leisure weekend soon.

This visit we were in the newer tower, previous visits we were given very old, outdated and small rooms. No breakfast options in the hotel but there is a Pantry restaurant across the street that offers a great selection of breakfast items and a good value. The hotel is a good place to stay for one night if you are heading in this direction.

Very clean, comfortable albeit very old attire inside the room. The historical hotel itself is very charming, large, and fun to walk through but the interior of the rooms/bathrooms really does need a major overhaul. Thanks for keeping everything tidy with helpful staff. We also had a very nice dinner onsite at the hotel restaurant.
